Abstract:
     A process for preparing iohexol as non-ionic X-CT contract agent (organic compound) features that iron powder is used as reducer to reduce nitro into amino, ICL is used as iodating agent, and acetylated amino and hydroxyl are hydrolyzed by ammonia water to restore acetylated hydroxyl to hydroxyl and only remain amino acetylated. Its advantages are ordinary-pressure process, short reaction period, mild reaction and no by-reaction.
