Abstract: |
|||
| The instant invention presents a method for improving the catalytic activity of an iron oxide catalyst without introducing a corresponding loss in selectivity. The catalyst is made from an iron-containing compound having large iron oxide particles. A process for preparing iron oxide dehydrogenation catalyst is also presented in which an iron-containing compound having large particles of iron oxide is combined with a potassium containing compound and water, this mixture is then formed into a pellet, and the pellet is calcined. The catalysts are particularly useful in the production of styrene from ethylbenzene. | |||
