Abstract:
     Cheap and safe sodium chloride is added into anthraquinone sulfonic acid in the production process with mercury method, the organic mercury is transformed into inorganic mercury. The sulphonated solution after filtration is fed into a copper column, the different potentials of the electrodes change the ion mercury into metal mercury, which separates out. The solution can be used cyclically in the sulphonation reaction. This invention can reduce the mercury content in the intermediate product anthraquinone sulfonic acid to below 0.5 mg/kg, reduce the mecury content in the product anthraquinone chloride to 0.08-0.2 mg/kg and reduce the mercury content in the waste liquid to below 0.05 mg/l. The national standard of pollution is met.
