Abstract:
    An airbag gas-generating agent which can reduce the drawbacks and problem associated with practical use involved in the gas generating agents using a sodium azide system and has more stable combustion properties, and. Also disclosed is a molecular compound which contains (a) a gas-generating moiety, (b) an oxidizing agent moiety, and (c) a reaction promoter moiety in its molecule and is preferably represented by the following composition formula (I): M.mx.ny (I), wherein M represents a metal component such as Al, Mg, Ca, Cr, Cu, Zn, Mn, Fe, Co, Sr, or Ni; X represents a nitrogen compound having no or one carbon atom; Y represents an anion such as NO3 or ClO; m is a number of 1 to 3; and n is number of 2 to 3.
