Abstract:
     The present method is to prepare SiO2 containing glass bead deposit by flame hydrolysis or by hydrolysis of solutions containing the glass raw materials. This deposit in presence of the atmosphere with at least SiF4 is calcined into glass preform, which possesses no increase of light absorbance due to contamination and it has quite enough low attenuation of light transimission.
