Abstract: |
|||
| Glass micro-particles, produced at the first blow lamp by ejecting raw glass and fuel gas, deposit on a seed wire forming deposited wire at an appropriate temp. so as to make the deposited wire have a low apparent density. It is heated at the second blow lamp to increase its density, and sintered to a transparent preform for optical fiber. By this method, crackleless, highly pure glass preform is produced at a high rate. | |||
