Abstract:
     The method of this invention comprises following steps: orderly depositing some glass made of synthetic metal-mingled quartz onto the internal surface of a quartz tube to form a glass layer, then heating the layer to form solid state in the internal surface of the tube, temporarily contracting the tube by heating when depositing glass layer is almost ended, and then depositing glass again onto the glass layer formed. A solid core is then formed inside the tube. Thus, this method can reduce cavity in the center without any lose of controllability in refractive index distribution.
