Abstract:
     Magnesium sulphat and barite are used as raw materials, being cheaper than using commercial barium sulphate. Barium sulphate satisfactory for pharmaceutical use is obtained. The problem of obtaining barium sulfate with high sulphur content and low whiteness is thus solved. Meanwhile, the problems of utilizing hydrogen chloride generated by thermal-decomposition of magnesium chloride and the serious pollution caused by barium containing residues are also solved. Quality indices of resulting barium sulphate are better than the 10 indices of the national standard of comercial barium sulphate, and are also better than the 8 indices of national standard of pharmaceutical barium sulphate. Purity of magnesium oxide is more than 98%.
