Abstract:
     In the said process potassium chloride or sodium chloride is used as flux and is well mixed with barite powder according to a definite ratio. The mixture is then preheated to be smelted, and the mpurity wherein is eliminated. Then, the obtained melt under goes the proccdures of water quenching, milling into powder, water immersing for dissolving out, filtering, washing and drying etc. Finally, pptd. barium sultate in paste form or in powder form can be obtained.
