Abstract:
     This invention deals with a method of producing barium chloride, in which the step of acidification with hydrochloric acid or that of chlorination with chlorine gas, as well as the subsequent step of clarification is carried out at controlled pH of 4-5, and alkali is no longer needed to bring the clarified liquor to pH 7-8 before it is concentrated under reduced pressure. This is followed by controlled crystallization at temperatures below 10 deg.C, isolation and drying to obtain the super high grade barium chloride with purity of 99.9%.
