Abstract:
     This invention provides a method of making light magnesium carbonate without waste liguor by using light magnesium oxide as the raw material. Said process is characterized by decomposing magnesia or megnesite powder with solution of ammonium salt to make the solution of magnesium salt. Then the solution of magnesium salt is reacted with ammoniam bicarbonate and reclaimed aqueous ammonia to make magnesium carbonate. The by-product of reaction-agueous ammonia and the mother liqusr containing ammonium salt which is separated from magnesium carbonate may be recycled and reused. Therefore, by this technology, there is no waste liguor to be disposed.
