Abstract:
     Process for the production of a water-insoluble nitrogenous organic base, starting from a water-soluble hydrochloride of the said base, according to which the hydrochloride is treated with water and a deficient quantity of a basic agent capable of decomposing the hydrochloride, the aqueous phase of the reaction mixture is collected and is treated with a complement of basic agent. The process applies to the regeneration of amine in the manufacture of sodium bicarbonate by the reaction of a sodium chloride brine, a water-insoluble amine and CO2.
