Abstract:
     A process for producing boric acid and sodium nitrate simultaneously by the acid hydrolysis reaction of sodium borate with nitric acid is described in the present invention. Borax or polysodium borate may also serve as raw materials. Purification of sodium nitrate is effected by extractive washing with alcoholic solvent such as methanol, ethanol, etc. Both the boric acid and sodium nitrate thus produced meet the requirement of G.B. standard of China.
