Abstract:
     The present invention belons to the prodn. method of alkali metal hydroxide. It's characterized by using sodium sulfute as raw material. In the water medium barium carbonate and calcium oxide are used as cansticizer to prepare directly the ag. soln. of sodium hydroxide. Through the conventional method, the barium sulfate produced is processed into barium carbonate . The prod. hydrogen sulfide produced when barium carbonate is prepg. can be used to prepare sulfuric acid. By evaporating in solid state can be obtd. the soln., sodium hydroxide. The prodn. of sodium hydroxide using the present invented method is electricity saving, and by-product sodium sulfate can be utilized. The starting-lead investment is less and the cost is lower. It develops a new technological process for producing sodium hydroxide.
