Abstract:
     This invention provides a commercial non-electrolytic method of direct conversion of the salt solution into caustic soda solution. Lead monoxide which is used as the converting agent car react with the salt solution and the caustic soda solution is obtained after separation. The lead chloride as one of the reaction products can be reduced into lead monoxide through appropriate chemical reaction. This invention can result in significant reduction of power consumption and lowering of production cost with simplified technology and low investment. The caustic soda thus obtained has high quality.
