Abstract:
A kind of method to produce potassium salts using tobacco vein as raw material. Use the waste tobacco vein extracted from the tobacco processing, turn it into ash, soak it with water and leach out the potassium-contained solution. Let this solution be evaporated and condensed, cooled and crystallized fractionally at different concentrations and different temp. Potassium sulfate, potassium chloride and potassium carbonate can be seperated out one by one. The semi-finished potassium carbonate is roasted at 600-650 deg.C to remove organic substance, dissolved in water and filtrated to remove its impurities. After the liquid filtrate is evaporated to dry state and calcined, pure potassium carbonate is obtained. By this method, from every hundred kg of tobacco vein, about 2.5 kg of K2SO4, 1.6 kg of KCl and 4.2 kg of K2CO3 can be produced. The economic efficiency is quite good and the technology is simple, investement is low, so it is easy to be popularized.
