Abstract:
     This invention especially relates to a process for preparing NaOH. In this process, two-pass carbonization is used, that is mirabilite and coal are first carbonized into Na2S by calcination, then Na2S in water is immersed and extracled, and Na2S is then recarbonized with CO2 to form Na2CO3. The Na2CO3 is causticized into caustic soda. The invention features high converting rate and high purity of product, product easily to be separated, and easy control of reaction conditions. If the purity of mirabilite is more than 85%, the purity of finished caustic soda will be more than 93%.
