Abstract:
     Sodium salt of bisphenol A and calcium sulfate are formed by the reaction of Na2SO4, Ca(OH)2 and bisphenol A in aqueous solution at low temp. Then solution of sodium salt of bisphenol A is reacted with CO2 at 30-80 deg.C, so high concn. sodium carbonate and bisphenol A are produced. Bisphenol A can be recovered and reused. NaOH can be produced by causticizing the high concn. carbonate solution. This invention is suitable for combined prodn. process of mirabilite-sodium carbonate-caustic soda.
