Abstract:
    An upright piano in which a positional relationship between a damper device and a string does not change even if a side plate or a key bed is removed for repair or other purposes and also the installation position of the damper device is less likely to be displaced with time. A support rail (59) for supporting the damper device (49) is supported only at a frame (39), and accordingly, even if a side plate (9) or a key bed (19) is removed for repair or other purposes, a positional relationship between the damper device (49) and the string can be prevented from being changed. Further, because the frame is made of metal to make it less likely to be deformed with time, the positional relationship between the damper device (49) and the string can be prevented from being changed with time.
