Abstract:
     Provided is an EL display device such that an area other than a display area can be made small. The display device includes a substrate, a driving circuit mounted on a board, and a coating film which coats the driving circuit. A display unit having a plurality of optical elements are arrayed on the coating film as pixels and being driven by the driving circuit. Each of the optical elements has a pair of electrodes and exhibits an optical operation corresponding to a current that flows between the pair of electrodes.
