Abstract:
    A mechanism (20) for attaching an auxiliary luggage case (36) to a main luggage case (22) including a cassette (24), the cassette defining an elongated receptacle (34) and a retention edge (42). The receptacle (34) is adapted to receive the belt (28) and the links when the belt and links are retracted to the main luggage case (22). An elongated flexible belt is attached at an inner end to the cassette, and has an attachment device (32) connected to its outer end. The flexible belt is bent over the retention edge between the links to fix the position of the attachment device and the extension of the belt.
