| A route guidance system has a current-location detecting unit, a route-searching processing unit for searching a searched route, a guidance-intersection setting processing unit for setting a guidance intersection, an assistant guidance intersection determining processing unit for determining whether or not an assistant guidance intersection having a parallel road which extends in the same direction as a departing road from the guidance intersection on the searched route of the intersections between the current location on the searched route and the guidance intersection, and a leading guidance processing unit for, in the event that there is an assistant guidance intersection, performing leading guidance for leading a self-vehicle to the departing road when the self-vehicle approaches the guidance intersection after having passed the assistant guidance intersection, and not leading the self-vehicle to the parallel road when the self-vehicle approaches the assistance guidance intersection. Thus, a self-vehicle can be driven along a searched route. | |||
