Abstract:
    The present invention provides a map data updating system and a map data updating method capable of preventing unmatching grid map data. A map distribution system appends the map data version information of updating target grid and the map data version information of connecting grid next to a updating target to the map data of updating target grid, and distributes them to a map data updating device. An ehicular machine stores rewritable map data in a map data memorizer and receives map data from said map distribution system. According to the receiving map data, said ehicular machine updates the map data, which grid is same to that of updating target and stored in the map data memorizer, using map data of updating target grids.
