    A navigation system comprises: a detection unit for detecting whether a vehicle is in a motionless state or in a running state; a display monitor for displaying road maps; a manual way appointing unit which permits to appoint a road tracked on the display monitor as the way when the detection unit detects that the vehicle is in the motionless state, and does not permit to appoint a road tracked on the display monitor as the way when the detection unit detects that the vehicle is in the running state.
