Abstract:
    The present invention provides a navigation apparatus for reducing the load of the map display process and map display method thereof. The navigation process part (13) generates DL-B of zone B and DL-D of zone D, and writes them to the VRAM (15). After the 2D drawing means (141) display the 2D map image in the map display range composed by one part of the zone B and zone D according to the drawing by the DL-B and DL-D in the VRAM (15), only generating the DL-A(b) of the zone A when changing to the map display range (1001) including a part (a) of zone A and zone B, and making the 2D drawing means (141) draw the 2D map image (d1011) in the map display range (a1001) according to the DL-A and DL-B in the VRAM (15). Each DL includes drawing instruction for the 2D map in corresponding zone made from the map data of the corresponding zone.
