    The invention proposes a method and system that can automatically collect traffic information, and can also select shortest time line based on current position. The system consists of system center and terminals installed on vehicles. The terminals send to the system center the time and position information when they pass information collection points. The system center send to terminals the average passing time of road segments, thus provide drivers the shortest time line.
