Abstract:
     This invention provides a reading/writing device to perform reading and writing processes at an equal transportation period independently of a feeding attitude of a magnetic recording medium 300. The reading/writing device is equipped with: a transportation path 1 composed of one route by which the magnetic recording medium (300) is transported; a transportation means 10, 11 for transporting the magnetic recording medium in the above transportation path 1 while keeping the attitude of the magnetic recording medium assumed when fed into a feeding port 3; a first reading/writing unit 5 for performing the reading and writing operation with respect to the magnetic recording medium fed in a first attitude; a second reading/writing unit 6 for performing the reading and writing operation with respect to the magnetic recording medium fed in a second attitude; a third reading/writing unit 7 for performing the reading and writing operation with respect to the magnetic recording medium fed in a third attitude; a fourth reading/writing unit 8 for performing the reading and writing operation with respect to the magnetic recording medium fed in a fourth attitude, then these reading/writing units are arranged in parallel with the transportation means 10, 11 in a line in order from a prestage of the transportation path 1.
