Abstract:
    In the invention, 12 pieces of wheel axle recognition sensor (WARS) of optical fiber grating (OFG) are adopted as sensing part. LED is as light source. Using optical power meter carries out signal detection. The sensing part, the light source, and the optical power meter are connected through optical fiber to constitute an integrated wheel axle recognition system. According to certain combination mode, WARSs are cascaded to form 4 pieces of independent optical path. When wheel axle passes through WARS, change of Bragg reflection wavelength of OFG in corresponding WARS takes place; and the change changes reflected light intensity of entire optical path. Based on number of optical path, where light intensity changes, the system can determine number of tyre. Advantages are: simple structure, stable, accurate recognition, anti electromagnetic interference etc. The invention is applicable to weighting and charging system, over loading transportation management system etc. in toll station.
