Abstract:
    The present inventive composite IC card and a module for IC card respectively have a contacting interface and a noncontacting interface, and are driven by the contacting and noncontacting interfaces. A detecting means detects whether the composite IC card is driven by the contacting interface. An inhibiting means inhibits the operation of the noncontacting interface while the composite IC card is driven via the contacting interfaces based on the detection result from the detecting means. A composite card has a contacting interface, a noncontacting interface, and a control circuit for selectively connecting to the contacting interface or noncontacting interface by being selectively driven by the contacting interface or noncontacting interface.
