    The invention relates to a surface acoustic wave converter also referred to as TAG and to an identification system using the same. The surface acoustic wave converter consists of a combination of a first transmission device of the dispersive type and a second transmission device of the non-dispersive type which comprises a plurality of n non-dispersive converters that can be or are encoded with an identification code.
