Abstract:
     A portable authentication system using both loops and whorls on finger and iris and its method are disclosed. It is composed of acquition of data about the loops and whorls on fingers and iris, recognition of the data, data transmission, and pattern recognition of computer. Its steps include acquiring the characteristic information on the loops and whorls on fingers and iris with portable imaging system, locating and preprocessing the acquired images, transmitting image data to receiver, comparing them with those stored in advance ,and using artificial nerve network algorithm for pattern recognition by computer.
