Abstract:
    The invention relates to an original exposure device used in an image reader for a copying machine, printer, scanner, etc. A toothed belt 5 for reciprocating carriages 1 and 2 are extended between a pair of spur pulleys 6, to turn the surfaces of teeth to the outside of a loop, and a toothed driving pulley 8 fitted on the shaft of a driving motor 7 is pressed on the toothed belt 5 to drive in a state where the teeth of the belt 5 and the driving pulley 8 are engaged. As the pulleys except the toothed driving pulley 8, the spur pulleys are provided to prevent the generation of the engagement frequency of the toothed pulley.
