Abstract:
     Into acid medium to be determined, aliphatic alcohol or aldehyde as catalyst is added for producing catalyst reaction and thus the nitrite radical ions is transformed into NO2 gas. Because the absorption strength of 200-300 mm wavelength ultraviolet light by NO2 depends quantitatively upon the NO2 density, the quantitative determination of nitrite radical ions may be carried out with atom-absorbing spectrometer, UV spectrophotometer or mercury vapormeter.
