Abstract:
     The invention provides a gas measuring apparatus and its manufacturing method, especially for testing of petrol automobile exhaust. The test probe is comprised of a glass pipe, indicating powder for hydrocarbon, indicating powder for carbon monoxide and some isolating material. The indicating powder for hydrocarbon is prepared by addition of chromic acid and concentrated sulphuric acid in silica gel; the indicating powder for carbon monoxide is prepared by addition of I2O and fuming sulphuric acid in silica gel. The invention together with a probe, a filter pipe and gas sampler can be used to test two gases at the same time. It can be made at low cost and used without any power supply and at any local place. It is convenient in maintenance and handling, economical and practical.
