Abstract:
     A brick that is in the brickwork and will be pushed out is specified. The mortar on its top and in its sides is removed and a small-size push-out apparatus is installed on the brick. By turning screw to push the brick, the value of push force is read out on the test meter when the brick is pushed out. Substitute the value into an empirical formula to find out the compression strength of honding mortar. The small-size push-out apparatus is composed of supporter, front and back cross bars, loading screw, force sensor and force measurer with peak value readout protection. The method features light apparatus, easy operation, small test error and short test time, and is suitable for on-the spot test of mortar joint strength for various brickworks.
