Abstract:
     The existing identification method of making distinction of seeds between lucerne and sweet clover is by testing their odours and forms. Owing to their outer forms and colours are very similar, and odours not stable, the distinction work is very difficult. In the invented method, after the seeds are moistened in culture container, which is put into thermostat of a temp. of 20 deg.C. for 6 hr. so as to let the seeds be in sprouting state. Then put the seeds under UV-1 pattern triple-purpose ultraviolet ray analyser for observation. The lucerne seeds give out yellow white fluorescent, circles, while the sweet clover seeds give no illumination. The reliability of invented identification method is 100%, and the method is simple and easy to master and popularize.
