Abstract:
    A knitting method for knit clothing using a flat knitting machine having needle beds arranged facing each other, wherein the knit clothing has a neck line (9) and a joint portion (19) between a front body (2a) and a back body (2b) at the shoulder extends beyond a shoulder line (15). The front and back bodies and both sleeves (4, 14) are formed in cylindrical shapes and knit up to armpits; and after a course knitting for the sleeves and the back body is finished while the sleeves are moved toward the bodies to be joined at arm holes (8a, 8b), knitting of the final portions (11R, 11L) of the front body and joining to the final areas (W) of the sleeves are made in the following manner. First, while the front body is knit up to the shoulder line, the front body is moved toward the sleeve and joined so that the stitches of the front body appear on the front side of the stitches of the sleeves. Subsequently, while the front body is knit beyond the shoulder line, the front body is moved toward the neck line to be joined with the sleeves. Finally, the front and back bodies are joined together.
