Abstract:
    The invention relates to a protective garment for protection of body parts against cuts or puncture wounds caused by sharp objects such as, e.g., hypodermic needles, fishhooks, broken glass, etc. The protective garment comprises at least one inner layer, at least one protective layer and preferably at least one outer layer, and is characterized in that at least one protective layer is composed of a wire mesh consisting of woven metal wires, where the thickness of the metal wires is between 0.03 mm and 0.2 mm, and the apertures in the wire mesh are between 0.05 mm and 0.45 mm.
